PENICILLIN 

Penicillin is a group of antibiotics that are made out of penicillum fungi. Penicillin in among first drugs that were afective and healed a lot of previously serious and deadly diseases and bacterial infections.

 Healing with fungus was allready researched in the Middle ages. But healing with penicillum fungi-Penicillin was discovered by a Scottish scientist  Alexander Fleming in 1928. The discovery was coincidential-it happened in the middle of one his other projects- but it began the era of antibiotic discoveries.

Alexander stopped the research a few times after the discovery because the drug wasn't affective. It started again in 1930 when they healed four people with eye problems with that drug. In 1942 they saved a dying man from death with that same drug. It was a success. From that year on they researched penicilllin even more and it became the most used antibiotic in the world. 

After world war two they started selling penicillin to civilians because there were a lot diseases, injurys and infections because of the war. In the years after that they improved the drug and it is still used in medicine today. 

Almost all drugs that heal deathly diseases are made out of penicillin. And without it we would probably still be dying because of them. So we have to be grateful that Alexander dicovered something that changed our lives and is saving us from death- PENICILLIN.
